A Noble Gathering has been called for October 10-12, 2003

The Duchy of Ashbury has been in a bit of turmoil since the Sessuar were able to invade and remain, mainly due to a force of Hound-Like extra-planar creatures that Evendarrian soldiers have great difficulty in killing. Even with the power of the Hounds, the Sessuar had not enough power to take and hold all of Ashbury, which left them spread quite thin, but still able to do massive quantities of damage to the Four Peoples.

Orders from Princess Lillian Rotari commanded that the Nobles of Ashbury take little or no action against these adversaries until The Nobles and Adventurers of Ashbury united to

In August of 598, just 2 months after the Sessuar invasion, His Majesty King Mykel II of Evendarr ordered his vassals to investigate the power base of the Sessuar and to take them out of possible.

The Sessuar invasion began with a large engagement of between Ashbury troops and Trolls. Hundreds had poured from the hills of the area and attacked the soldiers violently, trying to overpower them with their numbers. The brave heroes of Evendarr fought valiantly however, and pressed their foes back towards the confines outside of Ashbury town.

That is when the allies of the Sessuar appeared from the forest. Large hounds with fur of black, brown, and grey. There glowing eyes could be seen up close and at night. These new adversaries began to defeat everything around them. The Soldiers had few silver and magic weapons which affected the Hounds, and their strikes did little or no damage. Even as the soldiers tried to retreat from the battlefield. the thirty canine-like beasts which appeared ravaged all those within striking distance. It was rumored that a mere twenty of the King’s troop managed to make it out of the fight alive. Within weeks,  word from Ashbury reached Evendarr, the King was alerted as to the loss of life and began to develop new plans to gather information about these adversaries.

An anonymous tip informed all that they may enter the lands peacefully to see what is to be seen. The Sessuar wanted to keep Ashbury for their own, and had no intentions of leaving. Knowing what had happened to the army only one month earlier, many were wary to travel to the lands. On the ninth night of October 598 ER, fifty brave individuals from around Evendarr gathered at the once-abandoned town. What they witnessed, many did not expect.

The group of outsiders were herded onto the tourney field by the Sessuar Imperium. The Sessuar dictators presented the situation in a cold and calculating manner. They explained the following;

* The visitors were inside their conquered domain. The Sessuar called this area Expansion Territory thirteen. They also expressed the fact that they wanted to further expand their lands.

* They had a noble system in place. An Overlord ruled all, followed by a Director, a Governor, a Head of the Ministry of Internal Security and two Guild leaders.

* No visitor was a citizen such a thing was going to be hard to acquire. Everyone had to have papers on them at all times, it was death if you didn’t. They displayed this by killing a captured woman at the time of their statements.

* All elves had to be owned. Ownership papers of some sort were to be on both elf and owner.

* Necromancy was illegal, unless you had a license, which could be purchased at the Healer’s Guild.

* They had a set of laws that had to be adhered to or penalties would result

As the Sessuar nobles gave their speech, three groups watched on. One was the fifty or so visitors from about Evandarr sitting in the grass. A squad of deep trolls in military garb, standing at attention was the second. The third group was ten or so large, hound-like creatures with glowing eyes.  These hounds were collared and controlled by the Sessuar nobles in some way.

After this brief but stern conversation, these two groups of ‘monsters’ forced the visitors into a tavern facility. Within, all were questioned as to their names, skills, race etc. and given papers to carry at all times. Notes on everyone were taken down and given to the MIS, or Ministry of Internal Security.

The outsiders from Evendarr stayed for three days and were treated properly though many strange things occurred. Liches walked the town without being attacked, necromancy was cast openly by the Sessuar nobles. Alliances against Evendarr were planned, Loyalists to the Evendarr cause were assaulted by others. Many people involved themselves with schemes for and against the throne.

Many adventurers plan to return to Ashbury after the winter, some have stayed, finding the Sessuar’s expansion area to be to their liking. Any who shall enter on the next year are warned to be extremely careful, be wary of the Sessuar and their ways. Any nobles are urged to keep the fact that they hold rank to themselves, as rumors of brain washing and torture have reached the King.

King Mykel has been alerted to the situation and is taking steps to reclaim the town of Ashbury for Evendarr. More information on this will follow in latter prints. Any who wish to help in the cause should contact the throne immediately. Evendarr needs your support!
